Co-founder of Awegmented, Dr. Anthony Arrigo, spent eighteen years in higher education, reaching tenured professor of Communication. In that time, he received hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant awards. As a PI and Co-PI on locally and nationally funded initiatives, he has worked with scholars from around the country and from numerous disciplines. He also served as Associate Director for the Community Research and Partnership Initiative, which sought to increase and promote funded research that is community-focused while also improving ties between scholars on campus and nonprofit organizations throughout the Northeast region. He has taught grant writing courses at the university level and regularly gives grant writing workshops and consults for non-profit organizations to help expand their grant-seeking capacity.
